Background info:
I was baptised as a kid and accepted God at my confirmation at 13 (because it's tradition) but never cared much for it until now. I used to be an atheist and then a nihilist but later opened up to spirituality. I don't know if I believe in God but I do believe there's something larger than life. The question i struggle with is: If God created us where did God come from?
No where. He just always existed, similar to how space has always existed. Its a good question. Its mind blowing to try to fathom the infinite.
I have just finished the next chapter. I'm curious about the extent to which people from other religions experience sleep paralysis and cry out for a Savior, other than Jesus Christ, and whether it worked for them as well. It is difficult to figure out which worldview is the right one, and as you mentioned, there is always the possibility of choosing the wrong one.
Your English is just fine. I have heard accounts of people subscribing to different religions who experience similar NDE phenomena. There are many great documentaries and books on the subject. It’s another of those subjects that leaves me with more questions than answers.
Right now I'm reading your book, and it's very compelling (I just finished the NDE chapter). You write about atheists and believers who experience NDEs and have profound experiences. Have you ever heard of someone who experience the same phenomena even though they subscribe to a completely different religion?
sorry if my English is a little off. I try my best.
This is the core problem of any worldview. For Atheism, the question is if nobody created the rocks and gases floating around in space, then where did they come from? They would have to have an eternal quality. Being the beginning and the end (alpha and omega) is characteristic of what it means to be God. So the short answer is that God came from nowhere, He has just always existed as He is outside of time. I think a lot of these complex questions are too hard to grasp with our finite minds. Hard to make sense of.
